Grants
Funding the next wave of open science.
Every open project starts with someone willing to back it before there is proof. Our grant program passes that support on to researchers and builders shaping open brain and health science.
Roadmap
How the grant program grows.
The program starts small and opens up in stages, so each round is shaped by what the previous one taught us — and by the people who hold $CORTEXDAO.
Season 0
Treasury set aside
A share of the Cortex Dao community treasury is reserved for research grants before any other spending line.
Season 1
Pilot cohort
A small first cohort receives CortexOS compute credits and weekly office hours, with every outcome published.
Season 2
Holder-voted rounds
$CORTEXDAO holders vote on which proposals move forward, and on how much each round distributes.
Ongoing
Grants feed the network
Open code, checkpoints and datasets from grantees become shared infrastructure for the next cohort.
Program
Compute, mentorship and introductions.
Each grantee gets the three things early projects need most: serious infrastructure, guidance from people who have shipped before, and introductions to partners who can speed things up.
- 01
Compute credits on CortexOS
Self-serve V100 time on a full Linux desktop in the browser with the GPU passed straight through.
- 02
Mentorship from the team
Office hours, code reviews and roadmap feedback from people working across AI, neuroscience and on-chain systems.
- 03
Introductions
Warm introductions to research groups, compute providers and open-science communities when they will help most.
Process
From idea to impact.
Rolling applications, a light review and no academic calendar. We care about what you will build and how openly you will share it.
01
Apply
Send a short proposal, a compute profile and your open-science plan. Decisions usually take four to six weeks.
02
Review
A blind first screen, a feasibility check and a merit review by domain scientists. No institution required.
03
Support
Compute credits unlock in stages. Mentorship starts right away; introductions follow when useful.
04
Publish openly
Release code, checkpoints and data under open licenses, with CortexOS-ready environments anyone can rerun.
Apply
Build what comes next with us.
Rolling applications mean there is no next cycle to wait for. If you work on open science, brain and health AI or decentralized research tooling, we want to hear from you.
